I have worked in the Onslow County School system since 2000. I worked as a teaching assistant at Jacksonville Commons Elementary while attending UNCW to gain my Elementary Education degree. I began teaching at Jacksonville Commons Elementary in 2002, and taught there (both 3rd and 4th grades) for 8 years. While teaching at JCE, I also obtained my AIG Certification for grades K-12.  In 2010 I transferred to Parkwood to teach 3rd grade, and in 2011 I received my National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist (ages 7-12 year olds). I am currently attending UNCW Graduate School for a Master's Degree in Language and Literacy.

I am a native of Jacksonville, spent my entire childhood here, and then spent a few years at Chapel Hill, in Virginia, and in Raleigh before moving back to Jacksonville to start my family and my teaching career. I have three children: Emily (UNC Chapel Hill), Justin (UNC Chapel Hill) and Jackson (3rd Grade at PWES!!!).
